Batik is a Javanese word and refers to a generic wax-resist dyeing technique used on fabric. The word comes from the Javanese word “amba”, meaning ”to write”, and the Indonesian word for dot or point, “titik”.
It is thought to be over a thousand years old, and historical evidence demonstrates that this method was in use in the early centuries AD in Africa, the Middle East, and in several places in Asia.
Ideal to decorate your massage table or to use as a sheet covering the body of your clientele. It gives a touch of exoticism to your practice.
These cotton batik are treated with wax and the same patterns are printed on both sides. The original colors and designs remains after numerous machine washes. Massage oil stains are easily removed.
The patterns, slightly flowery, are variable from one batik to another.
The colors depend on the available stock and cannot be chosen.
